I spent thirty years of my life as a teacher in public or private schools. For most of that time, I taught middle school students. I taught in several different areas of the United States, including the Southwest (Texas) and the Northeast (New Hampshire.) I have two Master Degrees and many more hours spent at educational conferences.
But for me, teaching is not what I do. It is who I am. I have always been a teacher. As a child, I taught my siblings. As a student, I helped fellow students. Now that I have retired from public school, how can I stop being who I am? I can not. My joy is helping others learn.
P.S. I have 18 nieces or nephews. And I have 29 grandnieces or grandnephews. This is why I use the name “Aunt Louise.”
